Aerial Lift (Boom Lift & Scissors Lift)  Instructor Certification

Aerial Lift Instructor (Train-the-Trainer) Course—also commonly referred to as a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Trainer Course—is designed to certify safety managers, supervisors, and experienced operators to train, evaluate, and certify aerial lift operators within their own organization.

  • Regulatory Compliance: OSHA standards (1910 / 1926) in the U.S., CSA Standards (B354 series) in Canada, and ANSI A92 guidelines.
  • Fall Protection Requirements: Harness and lanyard integration, tie-off points, and restraint vs. arrest systems.
  • Practical Evaluations: Conducting hands-on evaluations, setting up obstacle courses, and assessing operator proficiency.

3. Training Materials Included

Most reputable certification providers equip new instructors with a turnkey training package, which typically includes:

  • Instructor Manual & Presentation: Slide decks (PowerPoint) and teaching notes.
  • Student Materials: Operator workbooks, exams, and students certifications.
  • Templates: Daily inspection checklists, practical evaluation forms, and wallet card templates.
  • Prior Experience: Demonstrable experience operating boom and scissor lifts is strongly recommended (or required by some providers).
  • PPE Required (for practical portion): CSA/ANSI-approved hard hat, safety glasses, high-vis vest, long pants, and steel-toe boots.

Participant Cancellations

  • Standard Cancellations: Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled course start date to be eligible for a full refund.
  • Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Participants who cancel with less than 48 hours' notice or fail to attend their scheduled session are ineligible for a refund.

Company Cancellations In the unlikely event that Canadian Fall Protection Instructor Ltd. cancels a course, registered participants will be notified immediately and issued a full refund.
